Facts
Biomass is renewable but its not totally clean when burned. Biomass is organic matter used as a fuel, especially in a power station for the generation of electricity. A biomass-fired power plant produces electricity and heat by burning biomass in a boiler. Small-scale biomass electric plants have installed costs of $3,000 to $4,000 per kW, and a leveled cost of energy of $0.8 to $0.15 per kilowatt hour.
INTERESTING FACT
Biomass has been used as fuel for tens of thousands of years. Development of biomass applications has made great strides in recent decades.
